Entry 005: Testing the Whichamathing

Now that I had the probe stuffed into the cistern and the connector soldered on, I figured I should connect up the whichamathing and try it out.

I connected the power cable as well as the DE9 connector.

I fired it up and it works! The meter shows the cistern is almost full (7 out of 8 LEDs are lit). The LEDs are hard to see in the sun, so you will just have to take me at my word.

I drilled a hole into the basement and strung the wire out under the deck. I used electrical tape around the DE9 connectors to provide a better weather seal. The meter was mounted amongst the other stuff on our panel in the basement. I am going to call this project completed. I will give you a report on how it holds up later on.
